You know those all-time favorites you have? Maybe it was the first assigned reading you actually enjoyed, a tape that serenaded your first makeout session, or a movie that you watched a dozen times while curled up with a pillow and a pint of ice cream after a bad breakup.
We want to hear about your all-time favorite movie, album or book. Write up to 100 words about why it rules, when you discovered it, and who would like it. Or whatever. And include your name and a short description of who you are: ie. Flagler student, painter, monkey farmer, etc... If we agree with you, we'll publish your blurb and your info, and you can enjoy the personal satisfaction of introducing others to their possible all-time favorites of the future. We reserve the right to right your spelling mistakes and undangle your dangling modifiers.
Spanks a lot.

I know somewhere in the back of my closet, I have a wearable pair of “boots with the fur.” I will admit, from time to time, when at a club, the spirit has moved me to “give that big booty a smack.”

When watching The Bucket List, be sure to have a best friend on one side of you and a box of tissues on the other. You’ll be reaching out for both.
Edward Cole (Jack Nicholson) runs a tight ship at the hospital he owns. Assigning two beds to a room with no exceptions is routine for him – even when he is laid up in his own hospital. The stingy billionaire is now trapped in his overcrowded hospital, sharing a room with Carter Chambers (Morgan Freeman), a hard-working mechanic.

While many movies claim to be the “Animal House” of our generation, “Superbad” is the one that most fits the bill.
“Superbad” is an idea that sprang from the fantastically demented minds of two 13-year-old guys, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. The most disappointing part about the movie is it took until both were 27 years old for it to finally get made.
Rogen and Goldberg are portrayed in the movie by Jonah Hill and Michael Cera respectively. While Hill’s outlandish style and over the top comedy are great for the character of Seth, it’s Cera’s awkward blend of humor that makes you believe that he is an 18-year-old virgin named Evan.

As a rebellious and angst ridden 10th grader, I discovered Operation Ivy…the band that has inspired me like no other. Never before had I heard such passionate and thought provoking lyrics as can be found in Operation Ivy’s album, Energy. Jesse Michaels’ voice is unexplainable…there is just something about the way he is able to change back and forth between angelic harmonies and raspy snarls. It is captivating, moving and incredible. Tim Armstrong, of Rancid fame, Dave Mello and Matt Freeman round out this groundbreaking, timeless and influential band.

I viewed the initial announcement for a Transformers movie with extreme skepticism. The television show was a staple of Saturday mornings during my childhood, and the opening theme song still evokes strong nostalgia. So I believed a contemporary film directed by the polarizing Michael Bay could be a blasphemous reimagining of a touchstone of 80s cartoons.
My skepticism was heightened when controversial (to fans, anyway) information was leaked before release. According to various sources, aspects of the show were being transformed to suit current pop culture. One example is the how the character “Soundwave,” who transformed into a tape deck in the cartoon, instead becomes an iPod.

When I first came upon Feist, her music was playing in the Gap Outlet where I work. I looked her up and realized that I have heard many songs from her new album The Reminder. This past summer, “My Moon My Man” was on a Verizon Wireless Chocolate phone commercial. Soon after that, “1234” was picked up and used for an iPod commercial and remains the most popular song on The Reminder, according to iTunes.
