You Review: Feist - The Reminder

When I first came upon Feist, her music was playing in the Gap Outlet where I work. I looked her up and realized that I have heard many songs from her new album The Reminder. This past summer, “My Moon My Man” was on a Verizon Wireless Chocolate phone commercial. Soon after that, “1234” was picked up and used for an iPod commercial and remains the most popular song on The Reminder, according to iTunes.
The Reminder opens with a slow song called “I’m Sorry,” which does not draw the listener into the album. Give her a chance though, because the energetic song “I Feel It All,” immediately follows. The album varies from mellow guitar solos to upbeat dance-along songs.
“Past in Present” is an upbeat song that you can tap your foot along with. “Sealion” is catchy and you might catch yourself singing along. Song like “Intuition” and “The Park” are reminders of her first album Let it Die, which was a slower solo album.
Overall, The Reminder is a broad example of Feist’s talents. If you want an album that leaves a lasting impression, Feist is your girl.
